I stumbled on a website last night that caught my attention. It’s called the Center for Mindful Eating.
What is mindful eating?
According to their website,
Mindful Eating Is
- Allowing yourself to become aware of the positive and nurturing opportunities that are available through food selection and preparation by respecting your own inner wisdom.
- Using all your senses in choosing to eat food that is both satisfying to you and nourishing to your body.
- Acknowledging responses to food (likes, dislikes or neutral) without judgment.
- Becoming aware of physical hunger and satiety cues to guide your decisions to begin and end eating.
Mindful eating is focusing all of your attention on food choice and the experience of eating without judgement.
The Center for Mindful Eating is offering a free event in January called World Mindful Eating Month 2022. They offer email only groups, or a private facebook group as well. I’m excited to try it out. Will you join me?
